Create Departments
Organize machines, operators, targets, production, and reporting under the correct plant processes.
Overview
Departments represent distinct production or support processes, such as Preform, Handform, Press, Trim, Quality/Inspection, Split Table, Assembly, Shipping, and Receiving.
Create a department

Open Administration
Sign in with an administrator account and open the master-data area.

Select Departments
Choose the value stream first, then open the department management screen.

Add and save
Enter a clear department name, confirm the value stream, leave the record active, and save.
Best practices
- Use the same names used by employees on the plant floor.
- Avoid duplicate spellings and abbreviations.
- Separate departments when targets, machines, or reporting ownership differ.
